Book Drive

This project was carried out since 27.01.15 - 29.01.15, organised by our Membership Director, Leo Yeong Phik Jia.

The aim of this project is to provide educational books for the children and teenagers who stay at a rural plantation area, Batang Berjuntai. Majority of the kids go to Tamil school, which means they do not speak English as their first language. We are aware of the importance of English language in the modern world- so one of our goals is to increase their English proficiency.

By providing literacy and education to the children, we hope to empower them to break the cycle of poverty. Throughout this project, we also hope to nurture the students by enhancing their teambuilding spirit and leadership skills of the students who are involved in this project. This project will be in collaboration with a student body in Sunway University, Sunway Student Volunteers, which performs many voluntary works around Klang Valley, and have worked with various organisations including MPSJ.
